I was just wondering what's everyone take on the tough fishing so far this year? I really can't think of any good reason for it, the weather may be a little cooler overall but I don't think that would have the fish shutdown, they've been done spawning for a while now and should be putting on the feedbag before they move out deep for the summer. Oakland, Stony and Orion have been some of the toughest tournaments I've fished since joining the club, and its got me confused. What's everyones opinions?

heres what i think...

oakland= cold weather+post-spawn
stoney= weather didnt help much but definate post spawn as we could see practically no females
orion= cold front previous day and the lake getting pounded throughout the week, and still seems post spawn but moving towards summer patterns

hopefully with the weather warming up it will move these fish and put them on the bluegill/sunnie feed bag or w/e they can get their mouths on

but i dont have much experience with these circumstances so im sure others will have better responses

you gotta know how to lose before you know how to win

im drop-shotting a scum frog out in the lake in anchor bay under a pontoon in 22ft of water

It's all weather related as far as I'm concerned. The water temps are 6-7 degress less than they should be this time of year. The cold fronts have come way too oftem. The barometer's all over the board. Cold / windy days don't help. Lack of sun. This week is the fist 7-10 stretch of stable weather we've had all Spring/Summer. Should I go on?

Heck, it's so bad that it took almost a half hour to get a limit on my lake yesterday! And a week ago, over an hour! What's up with that? Grin
