A 12 hour tournament was canceled after 3 hours of fishing. The weather rolled in around 11 so we got off the water and i know most did.We all waited to see if the storm would pass but after hours of sitting it didnt and we were all tired. At that point a decision was made to dump the fish and cancel the tournament for safety reasons. Some of us had fish some of us didnt have fish not to say with 9 hours left that all of us wouldnt catch a limit. We all know you cant make all the people happy 100% of the time. When the decision was made did we know it wouldnt be rescheduled?Did we know it would have this much impack on alot of members?Someone allways has to be the bad guy period.Thats all in the past now now everone in the club has to decide what to do and whats best for the club not for just 1 or 2 of us.We can piss in the wind for hours about by-law this and bi-law that, this is the first time this has happend suggests a few member that been in the club a long time. Will it happen again?Right now the issue is from what I see is what our options are?Drop it all together and stay with 6 and have the lowest score droped.Or use the canceled tournament has a drop for the entire club. Some it may not effect other it could have a bearing on thier final standind.Once again to remind all make your decision based on whats best for the club and not a select few.

the tourney was canceled because the tournament commettie decided it was not safe for the club to continue to fish, which wasnt an easy decision, we did take in consideration some ppl had fish, and about weighing fish or not weighing fish. end result we decided to cancel the tourney and not weigh fish. Figuring we would either cancel the tourney all together or reschedule, depending on what we would discuss at the meeting.  I doubt there is any one in this club that would say that it was safe to fish.  The commettie did what we thought was right for the club. according to the by laws if something comes up in the tourney then the commettie gets together and makes a decision, which was done.  From here if a new bylaw needs to be made then so be it...

Another note, We are fishing the club tourneys for the fun of it not for the money, so I really have a problem with comments about "all the money being spent on prefishing and driving, for nothing."    As for the scale being set up and ready to weigh in fish, it wasnt working so how could it had ready to weigh fish? and according to our discussions at the beginning of the year, no fish are too be brought to the scales until everything is set up and the director says scales are open, that way we dont take a chance in harming the fish. I have noticed ppl bring fish to the scales in other tourneys before the scales were ready, we need to start paying attention to this.

Tournament was canceled, and because of that, it's as if the tournament never happened.  That means this tournament season will only consist of 6 tournaments, with the best 5 counting toward end of the year standings.  Everyone pretty much seemed in agreement with this decision.

These are few of the Proposed By-Law Changes that were talked about at the last Club meeting.  Please read them over and be preparied to speak to them at the next meeting.  These are not firm in any way just some thought starters.  All I have done is put them to paper for discussion.  The majority of the members at the last meeting liked #5.

Proposal for By-Law Changes With Regards to a Cancelled Points Tournament

(01). No changes need to be made and we will continue on with the current wording in our By-laws.
(02). If for any reason a Points Tournament is cancelled by the Tournament Committee then the final scores would Zero for all members. The Tournament being cancelled would account for each member’s throw away Tournament and the Club would not make-up this Tournament.
(03). If for any reason a Points Tournament is cancelled by the Tournament Committee then the Club will use the make-up Tournament that was pre-scheduled at the beginning of the year as the Replacement Points Tournament.
(04). If for any reason a Points Tournament is cancelled by the Tournament Committee after more than half the Tournament as elapsed then all fish will be weighed in and the Total scores will go towards the YTD Standings and Individual Standings.
(05). If for any reason a Points Tournament is cancelled by the Tournament Committee before half the event has elapsed then that Points Tournament will no longer count towards any YTD Totals as well as any Individual Scoring.  The Club will use one less Points Tournament for that particular season; all other By-laws will be enforced. i.e. each member still must throw out his lowest Points Tournament for that season.
(06). If for any reason a Points Tournament is cancelled by the Tournament Committee before half the event has elapsed then the Points Tournament being cancelled would account for each member’s throw away Tournament and the final score would Zero for all members.  This would mean the Club would not make-up this Tournament.
