MBI Members:
Please be advised that the above-referenced tournament is during our off-limit period, therefore, all members of the clubs involved in the MBI cannot participate in said tournament. Also, in the interest of fair competition, MBI participants and club members should consider the weigh-in for the charity tournament as part of the off-limit period.
Additionally, Paul Wagner of Michigan Bass Anglers is having major surgery and will not be able to make the MBI, which means his club will not have enough boats or members to fish. Michigan Bass Anglers has respectfully requested a refund for their MBI dues, in light of this unfortunate event. I looked through the MBI rules and noted that there is no provision for such a refund. Therefore, Oakland Bassmasters would like to have a vote at the meeting before the tournament on whether or not to refund their entry fee. Please be aware that if we vote to refund the entry fee, each remaining club will incur an extra $35 in entry fees to cover the expenses we will fall short on for hosting the event. These additional entry fees will be initially covered by Oakland Bassmasters, however, we would ask the remaining clubs to forward us a check ASAP, after the MBI.
So please talk it over with your membership and let us know Sunday morning.
Thanks
John Pearce

We'll want to mention to the other clubs involved in the MBI that no one
from their clubs can fish in this event as it is during the closed
period right before the tournament.

Hayes State Park Hosts a 'GO-Get Outdoors' Charity Fishing Tournament
Sept. 19
Hayes State Park and Midwest Sportsman are hosting the second Charity
Fishing Tournament on Wamplers Lake on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m.
to 3 p.m.
This is the second year Midwest Sportsman has organized the tournaments
to benefit the Michigan National Guard Family Fund Program, and the
second such event held this year at Hayes State Park.
Individuals, campers and non-campers are welcome to participate in the
tournament. To encourage spectators, as well as participants, the
National Guard will showcase an HET and a Humvee, and have Guardsmen on
hand to answer questions. The HET is a very large tractor truck used to
pull tanks, and the Humvee is a large jeep-type vehicle. Kids of all
ages and adults will enjoy checking out these military vehicles.
Cost of the fishing tournament is $80 for each 2-person team; with $10
going into a “Big Bass Pot.” Prizes will be awarded for various
categories. Once event costs are covered, the balance of the
registration fees will go to the Michigan National Guard Family Fund to
help the men and women who are serving our country.
“The Michigan National Guard Family Fund has helped so many military
families from our great state,” said charity fishing tournament
director Rick Pulver. “We want to do what we can to assist in this
effort.”
For more information about the tournaments or to obtain a registration
form to sign up your team, contact the tournament organizer, Rick
