If you've had your boat for a few years, you might want to check out your fuel lines and replace them..  My boat is going on 7 yrs old and I figured I would just change it just in case.  I cut the line to get the size of the fuel line and everything looked good at that point...  when I bought the fuel line to install it, I cut the line next to the fuel tank and the whole inside liner of the fuel line was deterated, cracked and falling apart, I also found this on the other side of the primer bulb.. Luckly I caught this before the pieces made it to the filter and plug it up or plugged up in the fuel line....  Just something else to check for during your boat maintenance.
