I have been asked for more details on the fishing trip to Guntersville. The weather was great, mostly sunny but breezy. The water was greenish and you couldn't see bottom even in  2 ft. of water in the bays. The water temp was about 62 deg. in the bays and 58 in the main lake where I checked out some different areas. We launched the boat the first day and I ran a short distance from the ramp around a point at the mouth of a bay and started throwing a rattling spot and about the 7th cast I caught a 5 lber. I spent a lot of time around there and caught dinks and Sandy didn't catch anything. There was bass boats everywhere the ramp was full and boats were in the same area as us so I thought it was the place to be. But the next day I went in a different bay and went to the end where it was only 3 or 4 ft or less and I wanted Sandy to catch some fish after not doing so the day before so I tied a red shad senko on her rod with 15 lb. mono rigged tex-posed with a 4/0 skip gap gamaktsu hook. And I sat down to tie something on my rod. Sandy said I got one and she had the biggest bass of her life and our trip close to 7 lbs. We took pictures and released it and I sat down to finish tying on and she had a another one the next cast, a 5lber. She was shaking for at least an hour.

I threw a spinner bait with gold willow blades and a twin tail grub trailer and caught several 3 and 4 lbers. I threw a shallow running jerk bait and caught some more.I had only two red shad senkos so after sandy caught several on hers and tore up both ends I put a different color on and she caught some fish on that also. But on the way back to our motel room ,we stopped at wal-mart and I bought some red shad Yum dingers 6" the senkos were 5" The next day in a different bay I was fishing a shoreline behind about four boats that were fishing the same water and it was in the afternoon and boats had been hammering it all day when I threw my dinger with a split shot about 18" above the hook and caught a 5 lb 3oz and 4 1/2 . The weather was going to rain for 4 or 5 days so we decided to come home. I have to make it fun for Sandy ,but I would have fished in the rain in a heart beat. Louie

That looks awesome Louie.  Now we have to catch some walleye on the Detroit River.  They sure won't fight like those bass though.

I called Chip 7 or 8 times and just got his voice mail. I thought maybe he was out of town.
